Meet The Team

Jeff started in the firm Ruwald & Evans - Chartered Accountants in 1977 as he tells it he came down from the country for a party in January of that year and never went home. In 1988 he was seconded to Waller & Co (later Waller Banks & Co) as a full partner and in 1990 struck out on his own trading as initially JW Banks & Associates and later Jeff Banks Management & Taxation Consultant and now the principal of Banks Consultancy. Jeff has a degree in Business Studies (Sturt University formerly Mitchell CAE), a diploma in Accounting and has been a registered tax agent since 1983. Jeff's experience over many years in the issues of individuals and small/medium business makes him acutely aware of their needs. This coupled with his empathy for all allows him to converse at all levels instilling a level of confidence in clients' dealings with the Australian Taxation Office.

Carol joined Banks Consultancy in August 2009 after moving to Australia from New Zealand and quickly became an asset to the firm with her quiet and caring manner and her attention to detail. Carol is a Chartered Accountant and holds a current membership with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. Carol gained her Diploma of Accountancy in 1989 at the Auckland Institute of Technology. Carol first started her working life in a large New Zealand bank and since then has worked for three boutique accountancy firms as well as a large telecommunications company in New Zealand. Carol has also worked with her husband in the family Computer Forensics business where she gained personal insight into the operations of a small business. She comes to us with many years experience in the accounting field.

Lisa joined us recently in March 2010.  Lisa has been a Registered Tax Agent since 2006.  She completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at Macquarie University in 2007 after part-time study.  Lisa has 6 years of accountancy experience working for a local firm of accountants.  She is experienced in all areas of accountancy including the preparation of financial reports and tax returns and database management.  Clients are her number 1 priority and her work is always completed accurately and in a timely manner.  She is able to achieve results by working in the team environment or autonomously as the case requires, but she also understands the processes required to fully complete the job.  With her experience as a qualified accountant and an associate member of the CPA, Lisa is quickly becoming an asset to the firm.  Lisa is also trilingual in Chinese, Japanese and English.

Anyone who has dealings with Banks Consultancy knows Loretta runs the office. Warm, friendly and no nonsense are words that many clients use in describing their first point of contact with the firm which more often than not is Loretta. Loretta is currently our Office Manager, Personal Assistant to Jeff Banks and also assists the Accounting Team. Loretta has been working with Banks Consultancy since February 2008 and loves the family business orientated team environment and enjoys liaising/assisting our friendly clients on a daily basis. Loretta has 20 years experience in Business Administration and Customer Service. Loretta spent 10 years in IT as Logistics Assistant Manager then as a Customer Service Manager to a team of 10 staff. The last 10 years saw Loretta as Personal Assistant to an Executive Sales Director in the beauty industry.

Robyn joined her husband Jeff at Banks Consultancy in April 2006 after leaving Nestl? where she had worked for 21 years. The last several years at Nestl? saw Robyn as the Manager in Regulatory Affairs and Nutrition for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Robyn has a degree in Applied Science (Applied Chemistry) from RMIT in Melbourne and 2 Graduate Diplomas in Applied Science - one in Dairy Technology and the other in Human Nutrition. Robyn is also using her food regulatory affairs expertise to assist the small number of food manufacturers/retailers that Banks Consultancy looks after. Robyn's main role is in administration.
